Prunable

Privacy

Prunable looks at your files to measure them. It never sends them, or anything about them, anywhere. This page lists everything that does leave your PC, and what happens to it.

Who we are

Prunable is made by Loophead Labs LLC, 8 The Green, Ste B, Dover, Delaware 19901, United States. For anything about this policy or your data, use the contact form and choose "Privacy request".

The app

Prunable has no analytics and no telemetry. It scans your drives on your PC, and what it finds stays on your PC: the results, your settings, its logs and its list of changes are all kept locally.

The app connects to the internet in exactly three situations:

Starting the free trial

Prunable sends our trial server a device code: a one-way SHA-256 hash made from the product name, Windows' machine ID and the serial number of your Windows drive. It can't be turned back into those values and identifies nothing outside Prunable. The server stores the code with the date your trial started, so reinstalling doesn't start a second trial, and keeps it for three years.

Checking your license

When you activate a key, and about once a week afterwards, Prunable sends your license key, the activation's ID and the device code to our license server, which asks Lemon Squeezy (who sell Pro for us) whether the key is valid and answers with a signed confirmation. When you activate, Lemon Squeezy records the activation under a name made from "Prunable" and the first 12 characters of the device code, so you can see your activations. Our license server doesn't store these checks. Its answer also says which version of Prunable is the latest, so Prunable can tell you when there's a newer one.

Checking for updates

Only when you press Check for updates, Prunable downloads a small file from prunable.app that names the latest version. It sends nothing about you or your PC. Prunable doesn't update itself: if there's a newer version, it offers to open this website so you can download it.

Both servers run on Cloudflare, which sees your IP address when the app connects, as any web host does. We don't log or keep IP addresses ourselves.

The license key and the email address it was bought with are saved on your PC, in your own user folder, so Get Pro can show who the license belongs to.

Buying Pro

Pro is sold by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record: they take the payment, handle tax and send your receipt and license key. Your payment details go to them, never to us. Lemon Squeezy shares your name, email address and order details with us so we can support your purchase and handle refunds. Their own privacy policy covers what they do with your data.

This website

prunable.app sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from other companies: the fonts and images come from this site. It's hosted on Cloudflare, which processes your IP address to deliver the pages and protect them from attacks.

The download is served from download.prunable.app, also on Cloudflare.

Messages you send us

The contact form sends us your email address, your message, the topic you chose, and your name and order number if you give them. We use them only to answer you. The form emails your message to our support inbox, through Cloudflare, and keeps a copy on our server for 90 days, after which that copy is deleted. We keep the email only as long as we need it to answer you and support your purchase, unless it's part of a refund or a legal matter we must keep records of.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Through the contact form, tell us the email address you bought with, and we'll answer within 30 days. Deleting purchase records ends support for that license.

Trial records hold only a device code and a date, so we can't tell which of them is yours, or anyone's.

If you're in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you can also complain to your data protection authority.

Prunable and this site aren't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect anything from them.

Changes

If what Prunable sends changes, this page changes with it, and the app's changelog will say so.

Effective 21 October 2026.
